Advent Season - Living Hope Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you. 1 Peter 1:3-5 (ESV) Describing Living Hope - It comes from our Father who is full of mercy. - It requires spiritual birth. - It was brought about by the historical resurrection of Jesus Christ. - Inheritance means strong relationship. - Unlike other hopes, it cannot perish, spoil, or fade. Responding with Grief and Belief In prayer - Ask him to help you grieve instead of responding in unhealthy ways. - Remember the Father’s great mercy for you. - Ask him to help you believe what is true. In community - Find believers you trust and be courageously vulnerable. - Share, listen, mourn, and look to the Father together.
